David Alonso has become the rider with the most wins in a category in a year after scoring his fourteenth victory.
With the special livery for CFMOTO 35th anniversary, CFMOTO Aspar Team rider David Alonso wanted to say goodbye to Moto3 on a high note and that is what he has done. The world champion has won at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya to put the finishing touch to a record-breaking year in the lightweight category. With this win, the Colombian has achieved his fourteenth victory of the season and has broken a new record: he is the only rider in history to have won fourteen races in a single season in a single category.
Alonso has started from pole and, although he has maintained first position at the start, he has taken it easy in the first laps, running in eighth place. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider has always remained in the first group, which has been made up of up to eighteen riders. As the laps has gone by, Alonso has gradually regained positions until he has arrived in the fight for the podium places. With two laps to go, the Colombian has overtaken Dani Holgado and Adrián Fernández to take the lead and claim his seventh consecutive victory.
Marcos Uriarte has finished his first race with the CFMOTO Aspar Team in twenty-fifth position. The Spanish rider, who has started from twenty-first place, has been very strong in the first laps, has regained positions at the start and has fought to lead the chasing group. However, halfway through the race, he has made a mistake that has relegated him to last place. From that moment on, Uriarte has tried to recover until he has crossed the finish line in twenty-fifth position.
CFMOTO Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara has finished seventh in the final GP of the year. The Spanish, who has started from twenty-third place on the grid, has made a great comeback at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya to bid farewell to the team. Guevara has been very competitive at the start and was already in fourteenth place on the first lap. As the laps have gone by, he has gradually regained positions until he has reached seventh place. His teammate Jake Dixon has been unable to finish his last race with the CFMOTO Aspar Team on track. The British has started fourth on the grid and has made a great start to get into podium positions. However, he has made a mistake on the first lap and has dropped many positions. Dixon has fought to get back to say goodbye to the CFMOTO Aspar Team in the best possible way, but he has crashed after an incident with another rider.
